Basic & In-service training of one year is being conducted for the rank of PSI & DYSP. Five week’s District practical training for the Prob. IPS. Training of Excise & RTO officers are also conducted at MPA.

  1. To impart basic training to the Police Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) and Deputy Superintendent of Police (Dy. S.P.s)
  2. To prepare, impart in-service training and sensitization programmes to the police officers in all ranks in the state to face the upcoming challenges before the Police and the State
  3. To draft, prepare and revise the syllabus for training of PSI and Dy. S. P.’s and for conducting examinations thereto
  4. To impart basic or in-service training to police officers of Maharashtra and conduct various training programmes for non-police organisation / public.
  5. To carry out administration and management of the Maharashtra Police Academy in the most professional manner towards making it an institution of excellence.
  1. Induction training programs for Dy. S P and PSI’s and activities related thereto.
  2. In training programmes of different durations including seminars, workshops and conferences, as means of continuing education for serving Police officers and officers from various other departments and also managers, administrators and both at State Level and at the National Level.
  3. Policy oriented operational research.
  4. Consultancy and Extension Services.

Available facilities for trainees & in-service officers.

MPA is basically prohibited place for Civilians. Only official persons & invitees allowed to visit.

E-Academy in short

  1. E-learning is available on Mobile, Tab, Laptop etc.
  2. 350 Hours of E-learning material available On-line for Police.
  3. Officers can take training of various Laws & Procedures through E-learning at their own convenience & places.
  4. E-learning training can be tracked through Server.
  5. So far 14,000 officers have been registered for E-learning.
  6. Training through Virtual Class & Web Casting is also being provided.

Virtual Learning has been changing the training ecosystem across the developed world and there was nothing to suggest that the same would not work in the Indian environment. Several Indian modules of online learning were studied and a combination of the most suitable ones was adopted for the Police.

The government of Maharashtra declared that formation of the e-academy on 8/12/2015. The mandate of the e-academy was to use the virtual platform for spreading the knowledge to the officers of Maharashtra Police. Director of Police academy is the implementing authority. He has formed various teams for tasks like content Development; content review; content production and for learning management.

As on date e-Academy has approximately of 300 Hours of learning material of different topics & 240 videos of guest lectures are accessible online

The e-Academy of the Maharashtra Police is first of its kind to offer courses through virtual medium in the country. The e-Academy primarily aims to provide a continuous flow of knowledge to the officers in the field, so that they remain updated about the happening around them and also keep their skill sharpened, without having to leave their place of work. The e-academy portal can be accessed from anywhere at any time, and on any device as per the convenience of the Police Personnel.
